In a recent paper, UA professor of anthropology Takeshi Inomata and his team have used radiocarbon dating to dig deeper into the history of the Mayan people.
Inomata, anthropology professor Daniela Triadan and a team of graduate students have been working in Guatemala for over 20 years in order to explore the patterns of Mayan society’s rise and fall.
Radiocarbon dating may only be used on organic materials.
